The Stranger with Beautiful Eyes!
The gleaming sun the golden rays
The sparkling twilight clouds
I saw those eyes of awing pride
Diamonds for a moment wide
Realised its your eyes open wide
Twinkling star I mused a while
Its your eyes I gave a smile
Thrilling heart breathing high
Gazed at those with a sigh
Beautiful eyes oh my Thee
You have made such a she
Lady you have wonder eyes
Makes my heart melt like ice
---
The crimson rose at early dawn
I saw its petals softly drawn
Then looked at you and looked away
The rose had nothing left to say
The river flowing calm and deep
The secrets that the dark waters keep
I thought I knew what beauty meant
Until your looking eyes were sent
The moon that climbs the silent sky
The silver light that cannot lie
I watched it rise I watched it fall
Your eyes have stolen light from all
The peacock in the rain unfolds
A thousand stories no one holds
But even he would close his fan
To see the way your eyes began
The stars are many cold and far
They do not know the way you are
They burn alone in empty space
Your eyes have warmth in one small place
The ocean waves that touch the shore
Forever asking ever more
They travel far to reach the land
Your eyes are closer than the sand
The first white light of morning sun
The battle lost the battle won
The quiet after heavy rain
Your eyes have washed away my pain
The fire burning in the night
The desperate prayer the sudden light
The warmth that saves the freezing hand
Your eyes have made me understand
The butterfly that breaks its tomb
The flower waiting in the gloom
The first green leaf on barren tree
Your eyes have done all this to me
The dew that rests on every blade
The promise that the morning made
The gentle touch of coming spring
Your eyes have taught my heart to sing
The honey from a thousand flowers
The sweetness in the evening hours
The taste that lingers on the tongue
Your eyes have left me still unsung
The shelter from the raging storm
The blanket that is soft and warm
The safe return to home and rest
Your eyes have put me to the test
The melody without a name
The instrument that has no fame
The song that plays inside the head
Your eyes are playing in my bed
The child laughing without cause
The breaking of unspoken laws
The freedom that the innocent know
Your eyes have helped my garden grow
The temple bell at break of day
The silence that knows how to pray
The peace that comes when worship ends
Your eyes have broken and will mend
